A dark, heartfelt comedy about dodging dementia and childhood shadows. Phil has a rare sleep condition with non-stop nighttime movement, where slumber includes driving cars and making sandwiches while still completely asleep.

Phil De Bondi is an emerging force on the Australian comedy circuit, known for his masterful storytelling and bone-dry, self-deprecating wit. A health professional by day and a storyteller by night, Phil specialises in spinning vulnerable, raw life experiences into compelling dark comedy. His debut solo show, The Man Who Never Sleeps, premiered to rave reviews at the Adelaide Fringe before touring to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, cementing his reputation as a comedian who isn’t afraid to find the deep laughs in life’s heaviest, most absurd realities.

‘Where other comedians stray too dark, Phil is always able to pull the audience back with a lemons-to-lemonade charm’ Jacob Jackman – Upside Adelaide.

Hosted by well-known local superstar Nona Mona and supported by up-and-coming Fresh FM radio host Chelsea Finlayson! All profits are being donated to the Sammy D Foundation, so why not come along, have a laugh, and support a local charity tackling youth violence?

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the seminal debut EP Adelayed, I am hosting a night of uncompromising industrial, power electronics, abrasive synth works and harsh noise.

Leading the charge alongside the anniversary celebrations is the relentless, industrial-punk force @schkeuditzer_kreuz, bringing a devastating live assault to the stage. Joining them is a lineup of heavy hitters, featuring the dense, dark industrial landscapes of @rope_society, the raw electronic friction of @themollyfetcircuit, and the abrasive industrial tones of @restrukture. Rounding out the sonic carnage are the brutalist textures of @sansflesh and eclectic electronic selections from DJ 5K1P.

All are welcome, leave your hatred and biggotry at the door.

We celebrate this event on Kaurna Land.

Adelaide Cinephonic presents: God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines, an exclusive film screening of the story behind one of Detroit’s great contributions to world culture: Techno.

The electronic music phenomenon was created by Black artists in the 1980s who transformed dance music internationally from the Detroit underground to the multi-billion-dollar industry of EDM of today.

God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines is a story told firsthand by the Detroit originators themselves, starring Juan Atkins, Blake Baxter, Santonio Echols, Eddie Fowlkes, Richie Hawtin (adopted Detroit son!), Mike Huckaby, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson.

Our screening will feature an exclusive Techno panel discussion featuring renowned Techno legends from the Techno capital of Australia. On the night, hear from Heath & Kathryn Roberts, founders of The Front Room – Adelaide’s biggest Techno promoter,  Dr Cathy Adamek, who wrote the definitive PhD on Adelaide’s techno history, and finally scene legend Damien Donatois, the founder of Juice Music, the label at the centre of the burgeoning Aussie Techno scene at the very start!

This one-off screening is being held at LowLife Basement Bar (beneath Rhino Room) on Thursday, September 3rd.

Tickets are strictly limited.
